Just Be Maritime is pleased to confirm that its Officer Cadet Management Services have been engaged by The Liverpool Marine Engineers’ & Naval Architects Guild (‘The Marine Guild’), whose Engineering Officer Cadet programme will be operated as a joint venture in partnership with Trinity House.
The Marine Guild is a registered charity that exists to support people in the Liverpool and Manchester regions. Founded in the 1890s, the charity raises funds to provide financial assistance to men and women who have worked in the marine and marine-related professions, including grants to support young people at the start of their maritime training to obtain professionally recognised qualifications in a range of marine-related disciplines.
Sarah McKenna, Chair of The Marine Guild, remarked: “We are committed to creating clear career pathways for seafarers and working with organisations that help to inspire and encourage the next generation of innovators to join the industry. We are delighted to be partnering with Trinity House and to provide training sponsorship opportunities for Engineering Cadets to achieve their professional certification.”
Captain Nigel Hope, Trinity House’s Director of Maritime Training, said of the new venture: “This joint venture partnership with The Marine Guild to train Engineering Cadets within Trinity House’s Merchant Navy Scholarship Scheme will create additional opportunities for those seeking a maritime career and the opportunity to work in the global maritime industries. The Marine Guild’s commitment to train the next generation of engineering seafarers demonstrates their ongoing support for the maritime sector.”
