Worcester MNCS

SCROLL DOWN

The Worcester Merchant Navy Cadetship Scheme (WMNCS) operates a Deck Officer Cadet training programme as a joint venture in partnership with the Corporation of Trinity House.

HMS Worcester was founded in 1862 and trained cadets in a series of four ships, which included the Cutty Sark tea and wool clipper, until the college was integrated into a successor college in 1968.  Known as the Incorporated Thames Nautical Training College, HMS Worcester trained thousands of Merchant Navy cadets during more than 100 years of service.

In early 2022, former cadets of one of Britain’s leading training ships launched a sponsorship programme, which will see a new stream of Merchant Navy cadets being trained under the name of their college, HMS Worcester.

We are currently taking applications for the WMNCS Deck Cadet intakes in January and September,  which are operated as a joint venture in partnership with the Corporation of Trinity House.

Applicants must be EEA nationals and resident in the UK for a year prior to starting training.

Once you are ready to apply for a cadetship, please email your application letter and Curriculum Vitae (CV) to us at [email protected], stating that you are interested in a WMNCS/Trinity House cadetship and confirming your preferred training discipline (i.e. Deck Cadetship).

Over a three-year training period, Officer Cadets will follow academic programmes and shore-based training elements at a nautical college, while undertaking the required sea service and professional training aboard a range of different vessel types.
