Two of our Officer Cadets have deservedly won prestigious college achievement awards at Warsash Maritime School’s Summer 2023 graduation ceremony.
Deck Officer Cadet Joe Parrett (pictured right) is co-sponsored by the Corporation of Trinity House and Döhle Yachts, and was awarded the John Milner Prize for Navigation. This prize is sponsored by the Royal Institute of Navigation for the best overall performance in navigation by an Officer Cadet following a Foundation or Honours Degree certification programme.
Deck Officer Cadet Jamie Molony (pictured left) is fully sponsored by the Corporation of Trinity House and was awarded the Warsash Association Cup. This prize is awarded annually to the Officer Cadet who has demonstrated exceptional motivation, effort, perseverance, and determination in overcoming adversity or difficult times to bring their cadetship to a successful conclusion.
Jamie and Joe have both completed their cadetships under Trinity House’s Merchant Navy Scholarship Scheme, which provides financial support for young people seeking careers as officers in the Merchant Navy.
Captain Nigel Hope, Director of Maritime Training for Trinity House (pictured centre), was delighted to attend this auspicious event to watch all of Trinity House’s Officer Cadets graduate and congratulate them after three years of hard work and dedication.
