Just Be Maritime collaborates with a number of UK educational institutions, which deliver Maritime Pre-Cadetship Training Programmes to individuals aged over 16 years who would like to pursue a career at sea as a maritime officer but may not yet have the required skills or academic qualifications to apply direct for a sponsored Officer Cadetship.
These Marine Engineering or Nautical Science programmes vary between educational institutions but typically encompass a 1-year or 2-year training programme to Level 2 or 3 qualifications, as a pre-requisite for entry on to a 3-year Officer Cadet training programme.
Pre-Cadets can start learning specific practical skills and knowledge about the area of the ship they want to work in from the beginning of their course. They will be taught by expert staff who are past seafarers and will use the latest technology being used in the maritime sector.
After attaining a successful conclusion to their Maritime Pre-Cadetship Training Programme, they will be supported by the institution in gaining sponsorship for an Officer Cadetship.
