The Corporation of Trinity House’s cadets have deservedly achieved double success at Warsash Maritime School’s recent Summer 2022 graduation ceremony for Officer Cadets.
Deck Officer Cadet Elen Amendolara (pictured left) was awarded the Matthew Flinders Navigation Cup for promoting excellence in Navigation, while Engineer Officer Cadet Victoria Alderwick (pictured right) was awarded the Isambard Brunel Engineering Cup for promoting excellence in engineering practice.
Both Elen and Victoria have been sponsored throughout their cadetships by Trinity House’s Merchant Navy Scholarship Scheme (MNSS), which provides financial support for young people seeking careers as officers in the Merchant Navy.
The great advantage of undertaking a Trinity House cadetship is the opportunity to train aboard a variety of ship types during the sea training periods and so gain enormous benefits from broader exposure and experience at an early stage.
Captain Nigel Hope, Director of Maritime Training for Trinity House (pictured centre), was delighted to attend this auspicious event to watch all of Trinity House’s Officer Cadets graduate and congratulate them after three years of hard work and dedication.
