STCW Courses for Hotel Trainees

During their college phases, Hotel Trainees will undertake a number of STCW training courses as shown in the example below. However, the timing of individual course delivery may vary depending on the employing company’s requirements.

Pre-Sea Courses

Personal Survival Techniques
Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
Proficiency in Elementary First Aid
Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
Security Awareness (ISPS)

Additional training may include:

Designated Security Duties (ISPS)

Subsequent Courses (depending on employing company’s requirements)

Advanced Fire Fighting
Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (other than fast rescue boats)
Human Element, Leadership and Management (HELM) at the Operational Level
Crisis Management & Human Behaviour
Crowd Management
